Additional information about Sunday's email - 24/05/11

Some issues have arisen that were not addressed in the recent clarification email. These issues primarily relate to the authenticity of Sunday's 'unsubscribe email' and any security risks for those who clicked on links or submitted information to the linked pages.

The Sunday 'unsubscribe notification' email was sent by out by QUT GK, unintentionally, to our members mailing list due to a problem with the unsubscribe link at the very bottom of the QUT GK Issue 2 newsletter. We have taken steps to prevent this from happening again.

The links inside the email and the pages to which they linked to, were safe to click on and navigate to since they are part of the management system. For those who attempted to re-subscribe, by following the links in Sunday's email, any information you entered was stored by QUT GK's newsletter mailing system and you would have received a re-subscription confirmation message. However this has no affect on your subscription status whatsoever. Since this information doesn't serve any useful purpose, it will most likely be deleted.

If you want to unsubscribe from our mailing list, just send an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and you will be automatically removed after confirmation. This information is also present in the QUT GK newsletter and is located in the large grey box near the bottom of the newsletter.

Have you been unsubscribed? - 22/05/11

Earlier today the 2nd issue of the QUT GK newsletter was sent out. Unfortunately the unsubscribe link at the very bottom of the newsletter does not function properly and will not unsubscribe you. Another problem also caused any unsubscribe attempts to send a notification to all members. We have taken steps to ensure that this doesn't happen again.

If you wish to unsubscribe from the mailing list, follow the instructions in the large grey box near the bottom of the newsletter, i.e. email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to be automatically unsubscribed. If you are experiencing difficulty, please email our web engineers at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. If you have any feedback, suggestions or comments, let our web engineers know by emailing This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
