About GK International

The Golden Key International Honour Society was founded on 29 November 1977. It is an academic honour society which recognises and encourages scholastic achievement and excellence among college and university students from all academic disciplines. In an effort to reflect the Society's diversity and international presence, Golden Key uses the globally accepted spelling of "honour" in its name.

Golden Key has emerged as one of the most dynamic, forward-thinking organisations in higher education. Committed to an ethos of recognising academic achievement and encouraging altruistic service, the Society’s on-campus presence has reached over 365 chapters at colleges and universities in seven countries: Australia, Canada, Malaysia, New Zealand, South Africa, the United Arab Emirates and the United States.

They regularly host a variety of networking events including regional and international conferences. These activities are organised to provide opportunities for delegates to:

• Improve their soft and professional skills (through participation and/or facilitation of workshops).
• Network with businesses from across the globe.
• Socialise with Golden Key members from Chapters across regions worldwide.
• Enjoy cultural diversity and exchanges as conference locations change every year.

As a part of the Asia-Pacific region, the QUT Chapter of Golden Key actively participates in two Conferences organised by Golden Key International:

The first is the Asia-Pacific (or AP) Conference is our regional event which occurs during the holidays at the begining of each year. Although this conference is primarily intended for Golden Key Chapters in Australia, New Zealand and Malaysia it is also open for members worldwide to attend.

The second is the International Conference is held within the United States during July and August every year. This is a much larger networking event than a regional conference as it brings Golden Key members from all Chapters around the world, together to learn, share and grow.
