About Us

The QUT Chapter of Golden Key follows the mission, vision and values defined by International Headquarters. We encompass a diverse community with members ranking the top 15% across all faculties in QUT. We provide our members a number of activities and events to help enhance their professional networks (corporate events), support the local community (community events) and socialise with the general public (social events). At QUT we have a stronger emphasis on professional development as well as community service and social growth.

Deeper involvement with our Chapter's activities can expose you to a variety of leadership, professional and soft skills (including liaising with businesses, facilitating groups, and managing events). It can also provide you opportunities to make new friends, travel to exciting locations around the world, and support your local community.

Membership Benefits:


The QUT Chapter of Golden Key provides its members a portal to a variety of services and events including scholarships, conferences, networks, tools and activities. These are organised to help members grow as well rounded individuals, widen their professional networks and encourage altruistic conduct through community service.

Professional careers are established during study. Your membership with the Golden Key provides potential employers legitamite and verified recognition of your academic achievements (a beneficial addition to a professional resumé). Golden Key also provides a number of member exclusive benefits, including scholarships and in partnership with Lode, GK-Unlocked, which is a candidate database links employers and GK members together (students, graduates and alumni). GK-Unlocked is aimed to allow Golden Key members to build an online profile to be searched by employers and recruiters.

Services to the community and extra-curricular activities play an equally important role in personal development. Golden Key Local Chapters organise a series of activities and events which benefits the community, enriches personal growth and instils personal satisfaction. The QUT Chapter incorporates all of these benefits with additional focuses for its members and the local community, including:


  • Academic Achievement: Golden Key recognises your achievement and can assist you to unlock your future as a successful academic or professional. Golden Key International offer a number of scholarships, higher education opportunities and even employment.
  • Professional Networks: Potential employment often depends on both knowledge and professional communicative abilities. The QUT Chapter organises a number of corporate events. Members are also encouraged to use applications including Lode as part of the GK Unlocked partnership to develop your profile and resumé for potential employers.
  • Community Service: QUT Golden Key engages in community events to inspire mutual growth and make contributions to our nurturing society. Events are held annually, primarily focusing on helping underprivileged children, young students and the general community. Particular highlights include, 'Christmas in July' and 'Tutoring for Schools'.
  • Social Interactions: Social interaction plays an equally significant role in personal development and balanced lifestyle. The QUT Chapter has organised numerous social events to allow members and the general community to interact, socialise and enjoy memorable experiences. Golden Key also connects you with students throughout the University. Friendships are forged instantaneously, on both a domestic and an international level with life long relationships established in areas, sometimes, seemingly oblivious to you.
